North Georgia Dog Training

The Sit Means Sit dog training method combines a remote dog training collar and traditional obedience commands to bring about the results that you want. The collar is gentle but effective. We know that owners want their pet to be safe, happy and obedient so that they can enjoy all the best that life has to offer. If your dog exhibits bad habits or challenging behaviors like jumping, barking, chewing, soiling in the house, pulling on the leash, running away or aggression, we can help. Our Georgia dog obedience school has helped families put the ‘best’ back in man’s best friend.

We evaluate your dog and provide an obedience training program that encompasses all of those behavior problems - and more! In either one-on-one or group classes, we give you the tools you need to train your dog. We train your dog to focus on you and to ignore distractions. It is the ability to focus the dog’s attention on you that really sets this training method apart from any other. The Sit Means Sit method is results-based dog training and will provide you with a well-mannered and happy pet that can enjoy the company of family and friends no matter where you travel.

A dog that focuses on you will not only obey your commands more readily, but will be a much happier dog. We do not just train the dog; we educate you on how to guide the dog through the problems of daily life. Like our motto says: We train for the real world. We know that every day distractions like children playing, a squirrel, cat or another dog, the mail carrier or a stranger approaching can cause unwanted and unpredictable behavior in your dog. But with the remote dog training collar and our training, you will never have to worry about those distractions again. Once you and your dog learn to communicate effectively there are no limitations to what you can achieve.

Imagine taking your dog to your children’s soccer games and having him lay calmly by your side, or having a dinner party without having to worry about your dog bothering the guests because he is napping comfortably in his “place”. You will be amazed at how a well a happy and well-trained dog can be integrated into your lifestyle and become a real part of the family. This North Georgia dog obedience training school will tackle any problem, any breed, and bring results.

Alex,
“Thank You So Much!”

For Those of You Looking For A Solution for A Better Dog, “This Is It!”

I knew from the first time I met Alex that He could Help Us. He has the Enthusiasm, Knowledge, Commitment and Understanding it takes to Teach anyone. He has helped me take “BARNEY”, my 2yr.old German Shorthair Pointer, To The Next Level of Training.

I had fears that the E-Collar would hurt my dog! So I tried it on Myself, and found my Medical Tens Unit for back-pain has more Intenesity than the collar. The collar is an Attention Getter (so Barney does not blow me off when I speak to him now) “IT WOKS GREAT ”

We are now A Team in tune with each other and we have Fun Together. I Never Thought I Would Be Able To Work Barney Off Leash anywhere, But After The First Lesson, “WOW”! We now work together in th front yard Without A Leash.

He has Quit chasing cats, squirrels, and birds. This is Quite An Accomplishment For A Dog Bred To Hunt and Run.

The Private Lessons in my home were Absolutely Great! The Group Classes are very well. As I enjoy working with Alex and he always has something new for us to work on, plus we have Fun!

My goal with Barney is to be a Service/Therapy Dog and I had hit a dead-end with his training. Then we met Alex, I can now see this happening! We have learned so much in such a short period of time. We have reconnected and Barney enjoys learning.

” Sit Means Sit and Alex “PERFECT” I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THEM! AAA+”

Thanks Again!

Fred: I have nothing but good things to say as does my immediate and extended family. Percy was a nervous, yappy, annoying little dog prior to SMS. My daughter left him with me and moved to Florida and I needed a serious intervention.

SMS was definately the answer.

He is much happier now.

I never thought it would be possible, but I was wrong.

Percy (my Yorkie) is awesome and he and I have bonded unlike I ever expected. He loves to put on the collar to learn new things. Alex, your trainer, has been super for me and both my dogs he has trained has been super. He has been so patient with me and believe me I’ve needed it. My life has been turned upside down. I’ve had to cancel appointments several times. He’s terrific.

He come’s with a HUGE recommendation from me. Most people in this business are accustom to training larger breeds, well, my guys are small: Yorkie and Maltese. Alex was honest and open with me on his experience. He answered all my questions and relieved my doubts and spent time with me, I never felt as if he was hurrying me. His appearance, his smile, his prompt attention to everything is a shining example of everything I would want my company to display. Fred, you would be proud if you could see Alex and Jackson work together. I’m a Neuro ICU RN so I know a professional when I see one and Alex is definitely one. I’m proud of him and you should be as well.

Sincerely, Nancy Crawford …….. and my SMS babies Percy and Tebow

Rick and I adopted Ernie, a rescue dog, in December. We are unsure of his complete back ground. He was very afraid of people, other dogs, and any new situation. We could tell he was not socialized well. He displayed some aggressive tendencies, and we were unable to get him to listen to us.

We took Ernie to be evaluated at another dog training facility. They labeled him an aggressive dog, and a very BAD DOG. We did not see him that way, and so we continued searching. Rick got a referral to Alex and Sit Means Sit from someone who had experienced firsthand what could be done with the right training and the right tools.

Alex came out in June to evaluate Ernie and give us a demonstration. He worked patiently with Ernie and determined that he only has fear based aggression and is indeed a GOOD DOG. He needed guidance and leadership.

We have been so pleased with the outcome. We saw changes after the first session with Alex. People who knew how he was before say he is a totally different dog now. The change is amazing. Ernie is happier, more confident, more engaged with people, learning to ignore other dogs if he is not comfortable with them, and he actually listens to us now. Alex not only did an excellent job training Ernie, but he also had to train us to handle Ernie.

The only thing we find to be a challenge is group class. All of the dogs are at so many different levels, and the class seems to be geared towards the more advanced level dogs. This does make it difficult for the beginner dog to catch up. Overall though, the group class has helped Ernie with his confidence and socialization.

Thank you Alex and Sit Means Sit. Terri and Rick Lewis

Carmel, our 6 month old Portuguese Water Dog, is now able to sit, come, place, heel working around distractions of other dogs and cars. We got Carmel at 4 months old and she had minimal training. Carmel is a sweet dog and well socialized puppy but needed some training. When she arrived in our house I had lots of my “glass decorations” and “paper products” put away. She tugged at the leash when walking her around the neighborhood and was interested in car traffic.

She started training with Alex at 5 months old and now is in group classes. She has had about 30 days of training and we are thrilled with her progress and the Sit Mean Sit program. I now have my house back and the glass vases and paper products are now displayed! We think the best command though “place” when we bring the groceries from the car to the house! We love it when she stays in the “sit command” when cars go by our rural country road home. No more tugging at the leash or wanting possibly to chase a car.

Alex has been wonderful and we couldn’t ask for a better trainer to work with or better customer service. He calls to see how our training is going and if there are any problems. He was prompt for his appointments during the initial training period and always professional. He keeps us well informed of what is going on in e-mail. The on-line calendar is very helpful for our scheduling.

Thank you Alex and Sit Means Sit!!!!

Before Sit Means Sit, my two labs were uncontrollably wild. I was unable to take them anywhere off leash, and when they were on leash they were a hand full. Walks in the park and neighborhood were short lived because they pulled like a freight train. I was recommended SMS by a friend and I after the demo I couldn’t get started quick enough. When I put the time in with my girls, it really shows. After only one week of SMS, I was able to have both of my labs off leash in the yard throwing the ball. I never thought this would be possible because they both have extremely high drives and I never thought I could control them off leash together. Three months later, they have progressed greatly and are doing well with their commands- when I make sure to put in the time with them.

All in all, you (Alex) and SMS have enabled my wife and I to enjoy our dogs more and have some order to our household.

Thanks Alex!
