Teaching your dog to multi-task can be a lot of fun. Your dog must have the ability to reliably be able to do a multitude of behaviors, and you can then chain them one after the other if he is attentive.
Dogs can easily reassign their energy from one place to another, as long as their are motivating factors involved such as toys, or things that they just basically like to do. Fred Hassen demonstrates some multi-tasking with his dog ‘Nash’ in this video.
