Sit Means Sit Dog Training in Ventura County, California
Sit Means Sit is an Internationally renowned training program that uses
innovative technology to train your dog in the “Real World.”
The foundation of a successful training program is to gain the respect and
attention of your dog. By nature, dogs seek out leaders and follow the
direction of those leaders. Like children, dogs want and need structure. If
these needs are not fulfilled in our four legged friends, they will likely
develop behavioral issues.
Kimberlee Shoopman is the Owner and Head Trainer of Sit Means Sit, Ventura
County. Kimberlee’s formal education in dog training began several years ago,
by obtaining certification for the leash and collar method of dog
training, followed
by clicker training and behavior modification. Kimberlee is a graduate
of the Sit Means
Sit School for remote collar dog training and is currently completing
a graduate level
program for behavior modification certification.
After adopting a Pembroke Welsh Corgi from a local rescue, Kimberlee discovered
that her corgi had a very bad habit, Coprophagia! In plain English this sweet
little corgi named Blossom had a bad habit of eating feces, a tough behavior to
break. While doing a search on the Internet, Kimberlee discovered Sit
Means Sit
and attended a seminar the following weekend, with all three corgis in hand.
Stewart, one of Kim’s three corgis, also a recent rescue was left at the
animal shelter by his owner because he constantly climbed their 6 foot chain
link fence and ran away. Ten minutes into the seminar, Stewart was running OFF
LEASH up and down the beach, and frolicking in the ocean. This was all it took
for Kimberlee to become a Sit Means Sit trainer.

and satisfied owner. In the REAL WORLD there are many distractions, and with

or bribery methods that are not reliable. The Sit Means Sit system of
dog training
employs the use of a remote dog training collar that is gentle and
safe, along with new
training techniques that result in a confident enthusiastic dog, head

We can help you with obedience, puppy management, house breaking, and crate
training. We teach you how to manage problem behaviors such as digging, chewing
and jumping. We also specialize in behavior modification such as dog-dog
aggression, dog-people aggression, resource guarding, submissive behavior,
anxiety and phobias.
While it is important that your dog is reliably trained at home, it is vital that your dog remain obedient and under control while in public at all times. This is training for the “REAL WORLD.”
