RUBY the “tiny” boxer:

We went to the Otay Ranch Shopping Center Animal Fair and Ruby totally
embarrassed me and my son, Mark. She was going after everyone, barking
and basically out of control, when I saw a lady with a shirt that said
something to the effect of “Professional Dog Trainer” so I took Ruby
over to her and talked to her. Of note, we go camping with lots of
people, lots of kids and lots of dogs and Ruby has always been a great
camper and social dog, but lately she was “bolting” from our front yard
and totally uncatchable.

We were referred to Lou Ann Sherman and she came over to our house and
met with us and we signed up for the program, although my husband
thought the program was too costly and he was worried about the collar.
All of us have trained (Husband, son and me) with Ruby and she knows how
to play the game with Lou Ann – she is an absolute angel around Lou Ann,
even jumping in her van one day to go home with her, so the program has
worked well for us and Ruby is still very playful at home with our new
boxer puppy and she loves to run and catch the Frisbee, but she also
loves to bring the Frisbee back to us now and she stays in the front
yard when we are out there. We are still working in “people crowds” but
she is getting better.

I am very happy with the program and one of the things I like is that it
isn’t a time frame class, we can take Ruby whenever we want to class and
for as long as we want and we will definitely continue to do that.
Thank you.

When I first adopted Shasta, a then 3 year old Siberian Husky mix, I adopted
more than a dog. I ended up adopting many frustrating problems; such as her
inability to hear me when I called her to me in a park, or her obsession to
meet every dog within eye sight. I worked with her over 3 months with treats
trying to train her to stay near me when at the park. However, if any dog
came within eye-sight she was gone and no amount of food would bring her
back.

Nearly 1 week after training with Sit Means Sit she was walking off leash
and by other dogs without any inclination to run and meet them. She’s
happier because now I can take her more places and I’m happier because now I
don’t need to get frustrated and yell for her to come back. She’s been
camping, hiking, backpacking, and doing anything else I can think of just
because she’s such a joy to be around. This training was originally to work
on recall but now we’re working on Rally exercises, agility, and some more
advanced obedience moves with many distractions like squirrels, dogs, and
people!

The Sit Means Sit system is a breeze to learn and even easier to maintain.
The classes are fun and even I, a 17 year old, find them a welcoming
challenge!
