Tens of millions of dogs are given to shelters because of behavior problems. Less than half of all dogs stay in the same family from puppy hood through old age due to behavior problems and lack of commitment from the owner. Most people need help training their dog. Most people need instruction and benefit greatly from learning under a qualified instructor.

Help is available and you don’t have to do it alone. Guidance and simple techniques are available and the best thing about our training methods is that it does not take a lot of time or a lot of training to get great results! Within just a couple short weeks of training using our method, you can be working your dog off lead and at a distance! By following our program, we can promise improvement within days and a well-trained pet within weeks.

The more training a dog has, the more freedom they may experience and the stronger the bond between dog and owner. A well-trained dog is a pleasure to be with, wonderful to have in the home and fun to take places. A well-trained pet is a fantastic addition to family life and socializes well with guests. Everyone enjoys a friendly well-mannered dog. A well behaved pet makes an incredible impression.

Does your dog ever ignore your commands? Bolt out of an open door? Run away when you say “come”? Bark continuously? Jump all over your guests? Pull you on the leash? Chew and destroy? Make you feel you can’t leave him at home alone? Go to the bathroom in the house? Steal your food or possessions? Growl over food or toys? Resist handling or grooming?

At Sit Means Sit Dog Training in Oklahoma City, our dog trainers offer puppy management, basic and advanced dog obedience, dog behavior modification, one-on one and group training with high levels of fun and control around severe distractions.

  • I rescued a white GSD from the pound that is estimated at 6-9 months old. He was abused and I have been working with him on trust issues. I have had him for about 30 days now, and he has become alot more calm. He is one of the smartest dogs that I have ever had the opportunity to own. He already knows sit, and is working on heel at this time. When I got him, if he saw someone, he would try to follow them down the road, but now he comes when I call him. We are in the process of building a fence for him, and have had to have him in an enclosure during the times that I am at work. My question is, will he eventually become protective of this property? I have a 9 yr. old Boxer that I raised from a pup, and she is extremely well trained in obedience as well as protection. I haven't ever begun with a dog that is already as old as he is....any suggestions?
