Aspen
Horse Ranch Park. Snowmass Village (Aspen). Large well kept green grassy field borders on some hilly pasture land. No water features, dried grass and sage brush topography. Bring your own poop bags, there is a trash receptacle. There is also a children’s playground. Located next to a ski area/rodeo grounds parking lot. Location: Brush Creek Road and Horse Ranch. Aurora
Cherry Creek State Park. Off leash dog training are. Open fields w/ trees, bushes and running streams. Parker Road and Orchard. Also accessible through the park entrances. Annual State park passes available at State park entrance. Prices change yearly. Currently $50 + $3 for Cherry Creek water board or $6 daily. This is also a horse riding area, so you must be able to control you dog on command. Directions: Take I-225 to Parker Rd. Exit and turn South on Parker Rd. follow down approx 5 miles and turn left on Orchard Rd. driveway is approx 15 ft. down on the right. Carter Park. This is the only official Dog Friendly park in Breckenridge, with free baggies for poop. Great place to socialize your pet and meet locals. Location: Behind Upper Blue Elementary School at the South end of High Street. Directions: Turn off Main Street, heading South, turn right on Lincoln, right on High Street, follow to dead end.
Brighton
Happy Trails Dog Park. Enclosed, off leash canine exercise area. Free to public. Owner/ custodian must be present within fenced enclosure at all times and are responsible for immediately cleaning and disposing of excrement. Open seven days a week sunrise to sunset. Location: 1111 Judicial Center Drive. Directions: From I-76 and Bromley: Head west on Bromley Lane towards Brighton Sports Complex right beside the Judicial Center. Turn left onto Judicial Center Drive, heading south. Follow Judicial Center Drive around to the back. Plenty of parking. From US 85, head East on Bromley Lane toward the Judicial Center. Broomfield
Broomfield Community Commons Dog Park. Nice and big, with creek and pond for doggie swimming. It is a little rocky and the creek and pond get a little muddy with lower water levels, but if you don’t mind a little mud, and your dog needs to get her ya yah’s out, it’s worth the drive. The temporary park is located in the North pod of the Broomfield County Commons. There will be 2 separate areas for big dogs and little dogs. The parks will be fenced allowing dogs to run free. All Dogs will be required to have tags and proof of vaccinations, and owners must accompany their pets and clean up after them. Location: Off of Simms road north of 104th and south of 120th/highway 128.. Two entrances: one at 13th and Sheridan, and one at 132nd and Lowell. Directions: From I-25, go West on 120th, go North on Lowell until you get to 132, or go North on Sheridan until 13th. From 36, exit 120th East until Lowell or Sheridan. Castle Rock
Dog Park on Douglas County Fairgrounds. Two separate dog areas, one is usually closed (the grass is trying to take hold). No water, no trees, one bench. Very safe gate systems. Well-fenced. Can get muddy. Location: Take Plum Creek Drive East from I-25. About 2 miles, at the southeast end of the fairgrounds just off Plum Creek Drive. Across from softball and football fields. Dog Park North of Castle Rock. There are no benches in here or water but the space is enormous and it’s rarely busy. North of Castle Rock, between Castle Rock and Lonetree. Location: Surrey Ridge and I-25. Directions: Take I-25 North from Castle Rock and exit Surrey Ridge turn right (you have to) and then your immediate Left into the park. (Thank you Richae Matula)
Colorado Springs
Bear Creek Regional Park Dog Park. 25+ acres of fenced fun. The Bear Creek Dog Park was established in 1997 in response to citizens and park patrons as an off-leash voice-command dog park. The Dog Park encompasses approximately 25 acres and is presently fenced on three sides of the park with the final portion of fencing to be installed during the second quarter of 2006. (This is mostly complete.) With Bear Creek running along the south side, dogs may enjoy a drink from the mountain creek. Through fundraising efforts from El Paso County Parks and LOOP (Lovers of Off-leash Parks), a local citizen group, a Small Dog Area was created during the late Fall of 2005. The area is just under two acres and is adjacent to Bear Creek with steps and a handrail leading to the creek. It is completely fenced with two double-entry vestibules to protect small dogs from the larger ones. Bear Creek Dog Park is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and the base of Pikes Peak with an elevation change of at least 100 feet going from the north boundary to the south boundary. The terrain provide dogs and their owners a variety of exercise options. Amenities in the Bear Creek Dog Park include: 8 bag dispensers and 9 trash cans, 3 benches and several log resting places. The main trail is three quarters of a mile which makes a loop around the park Several social trails 4 access points into the park 2 double-entry vestibules into the Small Dog Area Donated ball dispenser Collection point for donated dispenser bags Information kiosk with two sides, one side for the Parks Department and one side for the park users 2 picnic tables New dog house for donated balls. Palmer Park Dog Park. fenced in softball field that has a special entrance. Open one gate, close, then open another gate that actually goes into park. It has bags for pick-ups, and benches for owners. Also has human water fountain with dog bowl fountain on the side. Anywhere from 10-50 dogs running and playing together at one time. There are many different entrances, easiest is go south on Acadamy to Maizeland, take a right, then take a right into the entrance of Palmer Park (about one block), then go about one more block and Dog Park is on your right. Rampart Dog Park. Fenced, benches, trees, parking, disposal bags, water, trash cans. Access for the disabled. Hours: Daily 5 a.m.-11 p.m., May-Oct.; 5 a.m.-9 p.m., rest of year. Denver Off-Leash dog park. This park is Denver’s first off leash dog park. It is open from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. The park is located directly behind the Denver Animal Control building. Location: 666 S. Jason. Directions: Take Alameda to S. Green Valley Ranch East Park. It is an off leash area, but it is not fenced in. The park has posts on all four corners of the park, and a sign stating “please keep dogs within boundaries”. The park is filled with thorns and cacti, therefore not very conditions for a dog to run and have fun. Location: Jebel and East 45th (Thank you Keith Parks & Jeri Jones)
West High School. Baseball field. mostly enclosed, not always open though. Location: 11th and Speer. . This is not a “dog park” however, many Paryway owners take their dogs there to let them play around and get socialized. There is a gate that does not completely enclosed the field, if you dog is a good listener, please come join us. I am usually there between 5pm-9pm. Sometimes they lock the gate! Directions: From I-25 to Speer, take Speer all the way to 11th (about 2-3 miles), make a right on 11th, and a left on Galapago. Edwards Dog Park. Off Leash Area, not fenced in. Park is not fenced in. There is a playground in the park but it is fenced in to keep the dogs away from the children. Location: Edwards Village Blvd. across from soccer field. Directions: I-70 West to the Edwards Exit # 163. Take a left at the light at the bottom of the Ramp onto the Edwards Spur road. Cherry Creek State Park. Off-Leash Hiking Area. There is a parking fee because it is a state park; I recommend the annual pass as it will pay for itself several times over if you take your dog there frequently. Asik’s Meadow Dog Park. A charming dog park. The park has lush GRASS that the dogs just loved. Also shaded “pavilion” with picnic table. Poop bags provided. Location: On east side Foxfire St. between Shenandoah and St. Vrain Blvd. Directions: From I-25 North, take exit 240 (US 119, Longmont and Firestone) East (Firestone Blvd.). Go 3 miles then Right on Frontier St. (CR 15). Right on St. Vrain Blvd. then 1st left on Foxfire. Dog Park is on left about .2 miles. From I-25 South, take exit 235 (CO 52) East. Go 1.8 miles then Left on CR 13 (just before stop light). Go 4 miles and then Right on Sable (CR 22). Left on Frontier St. (CR 15). Left on Shenandoah and 1st right on Foxfire. Fort Collins
Fossil Creek Park Dog Park. Smaller than W. Horsetooth but has running water in warm months. Location: 5821 South Lemay Avenue (by Boardwalk Drive approximately 0.5 mile south of Harmony Road. Directions: Take Lemay southbound from Harmony Road. Park is on the west side of road and dog park is on immediate right as you drive into this new city managed park. (Thank You Wendy Mulherin)
Ft. Collins Dog Park. Description: Maybe an Acre fenced. On-leash trail lead out from the park up to Horsetooth Res. Lots of dogs on weekends and afternoons after college students are out of classes. A few picnic tables. Huge cottonwoods for shade. Bring your own water/toys. Location: West end of Horsetooth road. By October of 2007 Horsetooth Dog Park will have a full blown water feature for the dogs to play in. This will be an optional part of the park and will be fenced off if you would prefer to not have a wet dog in your car. The park has also been expanded and borders a brand new community are that includes a skate park, picnic areas, walking trails, and other amenities. Directions: College, Taft Hill or Sheilds, turn west on Horsetooth. Follow Horsetooth all the way to the end. Parking is on the side of the road. Short walk to dogpark and trailheads. South Gold Park. Fenced open space at the back of the park (currently no sign designating the dog park is visible from the parking lot), picnic table and poop bags, but bring water, park has playground, ball diamond, pond, trails. The city website does not identify the dog park part. I wrote to the city parks person, because I want to increase awareness. The whole park is new and I want to encourage people to use it so the city adds more dog parks! Location: Hickory Street. Directions: End of Hickory, which on the west side of North College, past Vine (Just across from Jax) also, follow the white fence at the end of the trail from Martinez park. Grand Junction
Canyon View Dog Park. The Canyon View Dog Park is located at the north end of Canyon View Park, north of the softball field complex and across the driveway. The area is approximately 3.2 acres enclosed by a 6’ chain link fence with two separate double gated entry points and two separate areas for small/senior and large/active logs. The west area is for those small, senior, or shy dogs. The east point is for more active and larger dogs. The area is covered with native vegetation and will be periodically irrigated to help maintain it. Also included in the area is a small, seasonal body of water for the dog’s enjoyment and refreshment. The pond is filled directly from the valley’s system of canals, so any dog owner concerned with possible problems should consult their veterinarian. The pond will be drained and access restricted during winter months. Hours of Operation: 5:00 a.m. to Midnight Daily. Location: 24 Road and I-70. Directions: Take 24 Road Exit off of I-70. From Santa Fe, go east on C470, exit at University, take left (north)up to County Line, take right (east) past Colorado to dog park 1/4 mile (guestimate) on right. Chatfield Reservoir. Enormous off leash park with two small dog lakes and several fields and back trails through wooded areas with streams. An incredible place to visit. Please clean up after your dog. Don’t give anyone reason to complain. We don’t need this park closed! Thank You. Location: C470 & Wadsworth. Directions: Update, the regular free parking is no longer available, the back entrance was closed because all the cars parking were causing problems. You can park and get in free from another Chatfield entrance off of C-470. You MUST be traveling West on 470, there is no East exit. The exit is a small turnoff just West of Santa Fe, there is a tunnel under the highway and a bridge. Be sure to KEEP YOUR DOG ON THE LEASH until you get to the park, this is a VERY popular HIGH SPEED bike trail. But it leads to the back of the park. (Thank you Monica Carlisle & Jenny Kerrigan)

Highland Heritage Dog Park. Description: 7 acres, fully fenced, double gate, water available June-Sept. Bring water, the water tap doesn’t always work. No shade, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Location: Southwest corner of University Blvd and Quebec St. Directions: From I-25 south of Denver: exit Lincoln, go west to Quebec St, turn south, and enter the park on the right side of Quebec St. From C-470, exit Quebec, and go south to University. The park is on the southwest corner of the intersection. Enter the park on the east side from Quebec St. Once inside the park, the dog park is at the south end of the park.
Longmont/Erie

Louisville Community Park Dog Park. Rules. This is a great dog park. A lot of considerate owners playing with their dog, and a pond (reclaimed water) for the dogs to swim/cool off/play fetch in. Marshall Mesa Trailhead. It has a great trail and there is a stream that runs along side for you dog to take a few refreshing dips. Location: Marshall Road just South of Boulder off of Highway 93. Directions: Take Highway 93 North to Highway 170. Go Right. You will see a sign that directs you towards Marshall Road. You will get to a 3 way intersection. Continue Right. The trailhead is not far. It is on the right side and there is plenty of parking in the parking lot and on the side of the road. (Thank you Gwen VanLoo)

Stapleton Off Leash Dog Park. Its mainly sandy, instead of rocks and hard dirt and weeds. It has a path that you can walk around and a small hill dogs can run around on. There are benches for owners to sit and talk to others with. Bring your own water though! Poop bags are supplied and lots of extra plastic bags are brought all the time. Stephens Dog Park. Off leash dog park. Creek for dogs to play & drink in, BBQ pit and picnic tables. Great place for a doggie Birthday party! Location: west ond of the South frontage road in West Vail (Intermountain neighborhood). Directions: Exit from I-70 - go west on the South Frontage road about 200 yards. Westminster Open Space Off leash Dog Park. Excellent Place for Dogs to run, play and socialize. Cows and prairie dogs run free and are used to visitors. Occasional rattlesnake sighting so be aware. THE MORE THE MERRIER!! Poop Bags are handy at the entrance. A large off leash dog park, you can find up to 50 dogs there on the weekends. Location: Between 103rd and 108th on the west side of Simms Street. In Westminster Colorado 80021 Just north of Stanly Lake on Simms. Directions: From Wadsworth go West on Church Ranch Boulevard (will turn into 100th Avenue). You can also reach it by going west on 100th from Wadsworth until you hit Simms that forces you to go north. Go north about 1/4 mile and it will be on the west side. Colorado Hills Open Space. All trails open to off leash use with rules. Location: 105th and Simms. Directions: From Wadsworth, go west on 100th (Church Ranch Blvd) north on Simms at the dead end. Parking lot is on the left where all the cars slow down. (Thank you Marlene Hewitt)

Poudre Pooch Dog Park. Fenced, grassy area. Two picnic benches and plastic disposal bags. Location: Eastman Park Drive, West of 7th Street.
