Top 10 ways to spot that your neighbor isn’t ‘the original dog whisperer’.
Thursday, August 13th, 2009Have you ever noticed how every professional dog trainer now calls themselves ‘The Dog Whisperer’ because of Cesar Millan’s fame? Even your next door neighbor does!
A lot of them even claim they were ‘The Original’.
Below are the top 10 ways to spot that perhaps your neighbor isn’t really ‘the original dog whisperer’.
1. If he is still trying to convince you that his free newsletter E-book would have been a #1 bestseller if he wasn’t ’screwed over by the publisher’.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
2. If you can’t find a video of his dog in action anywhere on the internet.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
3. If the local media station says ‘Who’??? When you ask about him.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
4. If he still lives with Mom.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
5. If he refers the aggressive Pitbull, to the dog trainer down the street.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
6. If his dog isn’t trained because “He’s way too busy to train his own dog”
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
7. If he still keeps his busboy job because ‘he likes it’.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’..
8. If he says ‘I’ve just never wanted to be famous’
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
9. If his ‘portfolio’ only consists of a picture of Cesar Millan signing his autograph for them.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
10. If he doesn’t even own a dog.
Then your neighbor just may not be ‘the original dog whisperer’.
Thanks Caesar, for keeping dog training a little more in the hearts and minds of everyone.
I’m sure you’ve heard all of this before.

AKC Dog Obedience Blooper!
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008Dog training doesn’t always go exactly as planned. Sometimes you can practice and practice, and still have strange things happen on competition day. Golf kind of goes that way sometimes also. In any case, in this Sit Means Sit dog training video, we see Lianne Hassen during the middle of a trial for one of her AKC titles, and watch as Tank does the retrieve on flat for the dumbbell. Gotta love the effort! Oh, and by the way……Lianne and Tank took 2nd place for those keeping score.
